AT&T to Welcome iPhone Users to 2003 Tomorrow

Weekend Update, 8.22.09–The Musical Chairs Edition

musicalchairsThe week ending Aug. 21 began Aug. 17 with another round of digital musical chairs–BoomTown reported that David Dickman, VP of West Coast sales for Yahoo, will be leaving the company at the end of the month for Warner Bros. to work in digital sales. Also, after a five-month tour of Europe and its finer Web establishments, Yahoo seems poised to name a new international head.

Apple Event Scheduled for Wednesday Sept. 9–Music, NO Tablet

sept9It has happened every September since 2005, and in a few short weeks it will happen once again. Apple is indeed planning a keynote event for the week of Sept. 7. And according to sources close to the company, the date is Wednesday, Sept. 9. Sadly, it will not feature the tablet device the company is rumored to be developing.

iPhone Undermining Microsoft in Enterprise?

In a note to clients Thursday, UBS Securities analyst Maynard Um noted that Apple’s iPhone is making some inroads in the enterprise space and that they’re coming at Microsoft’s expense.
