You’ve Been Xserved

passed_out_xserveThe Apple Store went offline earlier this morning and when it returned, its homepage featured not a new 2TB Time Capsule, not an updated Apple TV, but a new Nehalem-based Xserve–the same one the company’s Hong Kong online store accidentally started taking orders for last week.

Facebook Stream: It’s Stream, as in Revenue Stream

facebooksearchIts proposed acquisition of Twitter now little more than an unrequited Superpoke, Facebook is tweaking its own service to mimic the microblogging outfit. The social network on Wednesday unveiled a new homepage that, in a nod to Twitter’s real-time message broadcasting system, now features “Streams”–Facebook’s “News Feed” revamped to update in real-time.
