The slow gutting of the U.S. economy hasn’t had as much of an impact on global semiconductor sales; they rose 5.5 percent in August from a year ago bolstered by strong demand for personal computers and handsets. Odd, since you’d assume that slowdown in the U.S. economy would reduce demand for electronics goods and, by extension, the chips on which they run.

Notflix is Netflix once more. The company finally resolved the technology problem that crippled its ability to mail DVDs to members for most of this week. As of this morning, all Netflix distribution centers are operating normally, and the backlog of DVDs that should have been shipped earlier is finding its way into the mail.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is as peeved as anyone over the iPhone’s recent price cut–more so since he’s apparently purchased upward of 20 of them for friends (like Kathy Griffin?). During a Q&A session this past weekend at the ConnectWise Partner Summit in Tampa, Fla., Wozniak lambasted Apple for dropping the iPhone’s price by $200 just 68 days after bringing it to market.
