Google CEO Rejected From App Store
Asked earlier this year if he would resign from Apple’s board in the face of Federal Trade Commission scrutiny of the close ties between the two companies’ boards of directors, Google CEO Eric Schmidt replied simply, “It hasn’t crossed my mind.” Well, apparently it has now.

Sounds Like Steve Picked a Good Meeting to Skip
Aside from a spontaneous “Happy Birthday” sung to an absent CEO Steve Jobs, Apple’s annual meeting today was something of a nonevent. Shareholders re-elected the company’s board of directors despite concerns about its handling of the disclosure of Jobs’s health problems. And the board continued to wave off questions about the company’s succession plans and Jobs’s well-being.

Apple’s Steve Jobs: “I Have Decided to Take a Medical Leave of Absence”
Trading in Apple shares was halted this afternoon when the company announced that Apple CEO Steve Jobs is taking a medical leave of absence until the end of June. Yahoo to Microsoft: Put Your Money Where Icahn’s Mouth Is
If Microsoft is so intent on acquiring Yahoo, why doesn’t it go ahead and make another offer? That was the gist of Yahoo’s comment on Microsoft’s claim this morning that it’s interested in discussing an acquisition of some or all of Yahoo — but only if the company replaces its CEO and board of directors.
