This article is grossly misleading without full context - the iPhone has been sold in China for over a year and there are an estimated 2 - 5 million iPhones currently in use in China today mostly running on the 2G network, they were just not sold through China Unicom. So this article does not compare apples to apples (no pun intended). And there are thousands more sold every day through the gray market. Further, 3G service has not taken off here yet as it is just now being rolled out in major cities - China didn’t release the licenses until the beginning of THIS year.
