[...] According to this piece in the Silicon Valley Insider, the iPhone only picked up 5,000 subscribers in its first weekend on sale in China. China Unicom says it’s pleased with the launch of the iPhone however. Reuters reports that the phone should add revenue in the 4th Quarter for China Unicom (China’s #2 carrier). Of course compared to the rip roaring success that Apple is used to, this was an underwhelming weekend. But consider that the iPhone gets no WiFi in China an can retail for as mcuh as $1,025 unless it is bought with a phone contract, in which it can also be free. [...]

Assuming you measure success by the quote, “imitation, is the sincerest form of flattery”

I don't think that has ever been one of Steve Jobs favorite quotes.

Fake Steve Jobs sure likes this article though.

Funny stuff.

You guys are concerned that China's lackluster IPhone sales should be a matter of concern?
China, the..* I can steal your media, IP, and sell it at as profit someplace else* China?
Arent these guys selling *IPhone* like Iphones even before Apple made it to the country?..
I think your focus shouldnt be on Apple sales but IPhone knockoffs being sold in the country, thats where you will see your numbers *skewed*
I bet if you google chinese IPhones, you would find a better source for success measurement, or atleast see how well IPhone like phones are sold in China. Assuming you measure success by the quote, "imitation, is the sincerest form of flattery"
