So google has to provide a service everywhere? Why? Isn't it their choice where they want to offer their services? Last time I heard, Google wasn't a government organisation.

AT&T is US-only and so is the FCC. Google is not US-only and neither is the Internet. I don’t see how there is anything good for AT&T in this. They are 2 years old, have business model issues, and their GSM network is the most nationalizable tech in the country. The FCC will be a whole new FCC in 4-8 years and if Google wants to move their offices to Australia they can do that and continue with almost everything they’re doing now. Google has more customers in India than the entire US population. AT&T has let their name go to their heads.

actually, google recently amended its ’10 things’ policy to “you can make money without doing evil (but making money while doing evil is a lot more fun)”.
