If you’re going to quote one financial analyst, you should tell the whole story. Several other analysts came out this week who contradict Piper Jaffray’s view. Plus, there are currently 41 analysts with a bullish or hold rating on RIM and only 1 analyst with an underperform rating and ZERO analysts with a sell rating. Not to mention the rave reviews coming out about the new Blackberry Tour in advance of its launch with Verizon next week. Seriously, the whole Blackberry killer theme was old 5 years ago. I know you like Apple (and I made my share of money off them over the years too), but get over it. Apple has a good product and they will sell a bunch, but there is no doubt that RIM has the strongest portfolio in the market and one “shopworn” comment from an analyst (who, don’t forget, was actually still bullish on RIM) doesn’t justify this slant.
