I just hope the world doesn&#039;t once again get locked into some one company&#039;s walled garden approach.

I feel it is much less likely that Google will try and pull such a stunt, and it is equally clear that Microsoft is in fact attempting to do so (again) with its Office Live.

I still don&#039;t understand why Office Live (as currently defined) isn&#039;t actionable at the Justice Department, but I also suspect that if it were to catch on it would end up being a cost sink rather than profit source the way MS runs it.

Maybe the two companies are just playing a high tech version of &quot;chicken&quot;.</description>
