That was it? Got everybody together to hype Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook?

“All this is wonderful, but what’s the company got that is NEW today. Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook for one thing.” For ONLY thing.

Good stuff.

I just hope the world doesn’t once again get locked into some one company’s walled garden approach.

I feel it is much less likely that Google will try and pull such a stunt, and it is equally clear that Microsoft is in fact attempting to do so (again) with its Office Live.

I still don’t understand why Office Live (as currently defined) isn’t actionable at the Justice Department, but I also suspect that if it were to catch on it would end up being a cost sink rather than profit source the way MS runs it.

Maybe the two companies are just playing a high tech version of “chicken”.
