Moments ago, Apple issued a firmware update for the iPhone 3G that presumably addresses the voice and data reception issues that have troubled the device since its debut. Whether it successfully resolves them remains to be seen. The update description says only that it includes “bug fixes.” Let’s hope the “bugs” to which Apple (AAPL) is referring here include the iPhone-consistently-drops- calls bug, the iPhone-fails-to-recognize-cell-coverage-where-I-am- certain-it-exists bug and the iPhone-has-serious-trouble-transition- ing-between-Edge-3G-and-WiFi bug.
I know I’m only one person, but I’ve had my iPhone for nearly a month and haven’t yet had a crash or a dropped phone call.
I sure hope these ‘fixes’ don’t introduce any bugs for the vast majority of us who have had no issues. I hate it when the medicine is worse than the sickness!
I applied the v.2.02 update last night. So far my Safari crash prob seems to be fixed but then this morning, the iPhone required a full reboot before using Safari over 3G.
What did people expect? AT&T is the worst wireless carrier in the USA! People are finally waking up and realizing that Apple completely brain washed stupid people into buying a PDA that wasn’t all that good to begin with!
That is what happens when you blindly follow trends! The company makes you think the iPhone and AT&T are the greatest thing ever! Then you wake up and your wallet is empty!
Dah?! You don’t get money back from being stupid!! Next time follow your own trend, don’t let some company own you!!

Here is a statement of my ethics and coverage policies. It is more than most of you want to know, but, in the age of suspicion of the media, I am laying it all out.

I’ve keeping track of all my issues since buying the iPhone on 7/13 here: http://tinyurl.com/5ed69b

“AT&T is the worst wireless carrier in the USA!”
I am not in the USA.
“Apple completely brain washed stupid people”
I am not stupid.
” into buying a PDA that wasn’t all that good to begin with!”
It’s so much more than a PDA.
“That is what happens when you blindly follow trends!”
I didn’t blindly follow a trend. The device suits my needs.
“Then you wake up and your wallet is empty!”
My wallet is not empty.
“don’t let some company own you!!”
Apple don’t own shares in me, I own one of their products.
You really are a silly person.
I have installed the 2.0.2 update, and so far I have no problems. I can tell you that 3G worked really well in France, and pretty well in the UK.
