Amazon.com (AMZN) this morning announced TextBuyIt, a new shopping service that enables Amazon users to search out and purchase items from the retailer via text-messages to 262966 (that’s “Amazon” on the typical touchtone keypad) while enabling Amazon to poach customers from competing brick-and-mortar retailers.
