“Linkin Park” Removed From Apple CEO’s Celebrity iTunes Playlist

showtime.jpgLooks like there may be something to rumors that Apple (AAPL) is planning a special event for the end of February. “Nu metal” rockers Linkin Park are working with Apple on a “secret” concert in New York City, according to band member Mike Shinoda. “Look forward to a special show that we’re doing in NYC in conjunction with Apple,” Shinoda wrote in a post to his Web log. “Shh … it’s a secret.”

Or a carefully orchestrated leak.

Incidentally, Linkin Park’s tour schedule puts the band in New York City on Thursday.
