Goodbye Ethernet Road
For a guy who streamed his “Happy Birthday, Elton” concert live to the Web, Elton John sure does hate the Internet. In an interview with U.K. newspaper the Sun, the self-described technophobe says the Internet is stifling our creativity and should shut down. “The Internet has stopped people from going out and being with each other, creating stuff,” he told the British tabloid. “Instead they sit at home and make their own records, which is sometimes OK, but it doesn’t bode well for long-term artistic vision. … Hopefully the next movement in music will tear down the Internet.”
