Looks like someone needs to take Prof. Christensen to school over his dopey remark. Yes, consumers will pick cheap over flashy, if flash is all you got. 

But consumers repeatedly have (and will) choose pricey over cheap if the perceived difference in value is cheap enough. 

Thus the iPod became one of the most expensive MP3 players when it premiered, and soon became the most successful. It also explains why millions of people don&#039;t choose the free phones subsidized by the Telcos and choose their own Treos and Blackberrys.

By the way, I&#039;ll be ditching my own Treo 600 after the first round or two of iPhone improvements -- probably just in time for Christmas.</description>
