Damn. And Here I Was Hoping for Photoshop or Logic Pro.

So the iPhone’s much-discussed 12thmystery app”? You know, the one that might have been an e-book reader … or a pdf/.doc viewer … or Skype or … video iChat! Apple finally got around to telling us what it is today and it’s … YouTube!

As Kevin Kline’s Otto in “A Fish Called Wanda” might say, “OK … DISAPPOINTED!

It’s hard to believe that playing YouTube clips on the iPhone’s 3.5-inch display is going to do much to revolutionize the mobile-device industry, but if Steve Jobs says so … One thing it might revolutionize is Apple’s relationship with the entertainment industry. I imagine NBC won’t be too keen on iPhone users watching “30 Rock” or “The Office” on YouTube, instead of purchasing them from iTunes …

  1. If YouTube videos stream to the iPhone, it’s only a matter of time before other (more profitable) clips do the same.

    I’m sure the porn industry sat up, brushed some bedhead hair from their sleepy eyes, and took notice of Steve’s pronouncement.
